Pune-based EdTech company Beep has raised $850,000 in a Pre-Series A funding round to expand its AI-driven career platform. The company aims to bridge access gaps in India’s higher education and hiring landscape, with a particular focus on students from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The newly secured funds are expected to support Beep's push to onboard 150 additional colleges and grow its user base to 5 million within the next nine months.
Tackling Regional Disparities in Career Access
Beep’s platform is centered around addressing the disparities in career opportunities between India’s Tier 1 cities, such as Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru, and smaller cities and towns. While students in Tier 1 cities benefit from established hiring ecosystems and broader industry networks, those in Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions often face limited access to internships, mentorship, and structured placement systems.
Saurabh Mangrulkar, Founder and CEO of Beep, emphasized the company’s mission, stating: "Tier 2 and Tier 3 students have the same ambition as Tier 1, only the system does not give them the same access. This fundraise is fuel for our mission to build a Tier 1 like career ecosystem at scale, where every student can explore, learn and earn faster, smarter and with real outcomes. Along with this, we have launched new product upgrades across the Beep ecosystem, including AI career tools, job ready learning programs and stronger recruiter and college workflows to improve real student outcomes."
A Growing Ecosystem of AI-Driven Career Tools
Since its establishment in 2021, during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Beep has evolved from a student discussion platform to a comprehensive career-building ecosystem. The company now serves over 6.5 million users, collaborates with more than 1,500 colleges, and works with 7,800 hiring companies across India. Its offerings include mentorship, resume assistance, professional upskilling programs with placement support, and AI-powered solutions such as BeepHire.ai for fresher recruitment. Additionally, the company’s institutional tool, UniBeep, helps colleges manage placements more effectively.
Beep’s focus on blending AI-driven hiring tools with industry-aligned learning programs has already facilitated placements, internships, or gig opportunities for more than 30,000 students and early-career professionals. Its portfolio of over 28 live programs spans areas such as design, work-ready certifications, and experiential internships.
Investors Backing Expansion
The funding round was supported by Knowhere Ventures LLC, Pacific Global Solutions Limited, LeadAngels FLV, and individual investors, including Vipul Prakash, Founder of wowJobs, and Sandeep Johri, CEO of Checkmarx. This latest investment brings Beep’s total funding to date to $1.5 million.
The investment reflects a broader shift in the EdTech industry, where investors are prioritizing platforms that can demonstrate clear pathways from education to employment. Beep’s focus on measurable outcomes and its expansion into underserved regions align with growing demands for solutions to address graduate underemployment.
Scaling Career Opportunities Nationwide
The next nine months will be critical for Beep as it works to scale its operations and prove the viability of its model at a larger scale. By expanding partnerships with colleges and enhancing its AI-driven hiring tools, the company aims to create a more equitable career ecosystem for students across India.
With the backing of its latest funding round, Beep is poised to take significant steps toward its goal of delivering tangible career outcomes for millions of students in regions traditionally overlooked by major hiring networks.
