Quick Answer

Developers share their real profiles with you. Earn their trust by adding your photo, headline, and verifying your company affiliation.

Why your personal profile matters

Developers are sharing real information about themselves when they opt in to a conversation. They expect the same from you.

A complete recruiter profile:

  • Builds mutual trust: Developers see they are talking to a real person
  • Increases responses: Profiles with photos see 2-3x higher engagement
  • Shows commitment: Taking time on your profile signals you are serious

What to include

Profile photo

Add a professional headshot:

  • Clear photo of your face (not a logo or avatar)
  • Good lighting and neutral background
  • Recent and recognizable

Developers want to see who they will be talking to. A real photo makes a big difference.

Your name

Use your real name as you want to be addressed:

  • First and last name
  • Match what you use professionally (LinkedIn, email signature)

Job title / headline

Add a brief headline that describes your role:

  • "Senior Technical Recruiter at Acme"
  • "Engineering Hiring Lead"
  • "Talent Acquisition Partner, Developer Teams"

Keep it concise and relevant to the developers you are hiring.

Verified company

Connect your profile to your company:

  • Use your work email domain to verify
  • Shows developers you actually work there
  • Appears as a badge on your profile

How to edit your profile

  1. Click your profile picture in the bottom of the sidebar
  2. Click the Settings icon
  3. Update your profile information
  4. Save changes

You can also access profile settings from the main settings page.

The setup checklist

When you start a new role, daily.dev Recruiter shows you a checklist to maximize response rates:

  1. Complete company profile: Logo, description, website
  2. Verify your identity: Photo, headline, company verification
  3. Connect to Slack (optional): Direct support channel

Completing all items significantly improves your results.

Impact on response rates

Based on data from thousands of introductions:

Profile status Estimated response rate
Incomplete (no photo) 60-70%
Photo only 75-85%
Complete + verified 85-95%

Taking 5 minutes to complete your profile can dramatically improve your results.

Privacy considerations

Your profile is only visible to:

  • Developers who are reviewing your job listings
  • Developers you have been introduced to
  • Your teammates on the same account

Your information is not shared publicly or with other companies.

Troubleshooting

Photo not uploading?

  • Use JPG or PNG format under 5MB
  • Try cropping to a square aspect ratio
  • Clear browser cache and try again

Company verification not working?

  • Make sure you are using your work email
  • Check that your email domain matches your company website
  • Contact support if your company uses an unusual domain
