Setting up Slack

From the setup checklist

When you create a job, you will see a setup checklist:

  1. Complete company profile ✓
  2. Verify your identity ✓
  3. Connect on Slack ← Click this

Manual setup

  1. Go to organization settings
  2. Find Integrations or Slack
  3. Click Connect Slack

Connection flow

  1. Click Connect Slack
  2. Confirm your email address
  3. We create a shared channel
  4. You receive an invitation
  5. Join the channel in your Slack workspace

Channel name

Your channel will be named something like:

dailydev-yourcompany

This is a Slack Connect channel shared between your workspace and ours.

If your company does not use Slack:

  • Consider Slack for the best experience

We do not currently support Microsoft Teams for shared channels.

Troubleshooting

Invitation not received?

  • Check your Slack notification settings
  • Look in your Slack Connect invitations
  • Contact us via email to resend

Cannot join the channel?

  • Your Slack admin may need to approve Slack Connect
  • Contact your IT team to enable
  • We can provide documentation for IT

Wrong email address?

  • The channel is created based on your account email
  • Update your email in settings and reconnect
