A

Active job

A job that is live and currently matching with developers. Active jobs are billed monthly. Also called "Live" job.

Agent (plan)

The standard plan for daily.dev Recruiter. Includes unlimited introductions, unlimited seats, and standard matching pace. See also: Super Agent.

Approve

The action of accepting a candidate for introduction. When you approve a candidate, we make an email introduction between you and the developer.

ATS (applicant tracking system)

Software used to manage recruiting and hiring. daily.dev Recruiter integrates with 50+ ATS platforms to sync candidates automatically.

C

Candidate brief

A structured summary of a developer who opted in to your job. Includes profile information, screening answers, tech stack match, and engagement signals. Replaces the first screening call.

Completeness bar

A visual indicator in the job editor showing which required fields are complete. You must complete all required fields before submitting for review.

D

Dashboard

The main interface for managing your jobs, reviewing candidates, and accessing settings. Your home base in daily.dev Recruiter.

Double opt-in

The process where both the developer and recruiter explicitly agree to connect before an introduction is made. Ensures mutual intent and reduces ghosting.

Draft

A job that has been created but not yet submitted for review. Draft jobs are not visible to developers and are not billed.

Engagement signals

Indicators of a developer's activity and interests on daily.dev. Used for matching but summarized (not raw data) in candidate briefs.

I

Intelligent matching

The system that connects your jobs with relevant developers based on past experience, present engagement, and future career direction. Runs automatically and continuously.

Introduction

The email connection made between you and a developer after mutual opt-in. Both parties receive contact information and can continue the conversation.

J

Job

A position you are hiring for. Also called "Role" or "Opportunity." Each job has its own listing, screening questions, and candidate pipeline.

Job listing

The complete description of a job as seen by developers. Includes title, tech stack, location, compensation, description, and screening questions.

Live

Matching pace

The rate at which your job is shown to developers. Agent plans have standard pace; Super Agent plans have 3x pace.

O

Opt-in

When a developer explicitly chooses to engage with your job by reviewing details, answering screening questions, and confirming interest.

Organization

A company in daily.dev Recruiter. Organizations contain jobs and team members. One recruiter can belong to multiple organizations.

P

Pass

The action of declining a candidate. When you pass, no introduction is made and the candidate is not notified.

Paused job

A job that was live but is temporarily stopped. Paused jobs are not visible to developers and are not billed. Can be resumed anytime.

R

Review (job review)

The manual quality check performed by our team before a job goes live. Ensures clarity, accuracy, and trust.

Review (candidate review)

The process of evaluating candidate briefs and deciding to approve or pass.

Screening questions

Up to 3 custom questions that developers must answer before opting in. Used to verify must-haves and gather information not visible in profiles.

Super Agent (plan)

Sync

The automatic transfer of candidate data between daily.dev Recruiter and your ATS.

T

Team member

A person in your organization who can access jobs and candidates. All plans include unlimited team members.

Tech stack

The technologies, languages, frameworks, and tools relevant to a job or developer.
